For years I was frustrated with weight loss. I was overweight. I worked so hard and so long with diets and exercise routines at the gym but there was no improvement.

Every time, I would blow cash for a new weight loss product or a diet program. Every time I did it, I thought “THAT” was the answer. I would get so excited.

Every time it seemed good at the beginning where I’d lose a few pounds quickly. (Later I’d learn that it was just water that I had lost.) Then it would stop, and I got discouraged because they would usually be incredibly strict to follow – either by ultra long and tiring workouts, or starvation – or both. When it didn’t work, I’d just jump onto the next plan.

An even bigger problem was that, since those programs were so hard and strict to follow, when I stopped them, I’d fall into even worse eating habits than before.

The mistake was in the whole approach. I was always about the short term. I wasn’t thinking about a healthy lifestyle, and a life of fitness. I was just focusing on “getting in shape” for the “season”.

What made my fortunes turn was that I was introduced to somebody who made me see the correct way. The correct way wasn’t just about short term – it was about long term. And, incredibly enough – when I adopted this approach and followed such a program, the fat loss rate was at least 10 times more than those I had with “fad diets”.

Without starving myself, without spending hours at a time at a gym, I was able to lose at least five times fat as I did with starving diets. Why and how?

I made my decision to follow a lifestyle – a healthy one: Very short (20 mins) of resistance training 2 or 3 times a week; eating habits consisting only of nutrient rich food, having a lot of quality sleep and rest, and being well hydrated – it wasn’t hard at all to embrace this lifestyle. It’s for the long term, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to have the body you want “in the long term”.

For me, it meant “having the body I wanted in just a couple of weeks”, but keeping that body and my health for a long, long time – that’s what “long term” means.
