A healthy eating blog is probably one of the most important tools in your arsenal of healthy eating resources. Whether you are interested in losing weight or getting ideas about continuing to eat well these blogs are worth their weight in gold (well, so to speak). I don’t want to be too hyperbolic, but blogging with others who share your interest is a wonderful way to keep informed as well as inform them about your latest recipe. There are so many pluses that it is hard to talk about them all. So let’s talk about a couple of them here.
Do you want to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks or lose weight in a week? You can find a blog about that specific topic. You will find great answers that others have found about how they have lost weight or not and they would love to hear how you may be succeeding or struggling. The participants are just like you, they are seeking answers to their problems as well as looking forward to helping another person with theirs.
Have you recently purchased a great ebook or program about eating healthy? I will bet there is a blog associated with it. On this blog are others in the same program enjoying the progress or looking for the same answers you are. One of the best parts of participating in these blogs is the ability to help someone else. You may be sharing a story about your healthy eating experience and find a person writing about your commentary being such a blessing to them because they were struggling with that exact issue. They did not know how to handle it and your commentary addressed it perfectly for them.
So if you have not delved into the wonderful world of blogging, now is as good a time as any. You have only to gain and nothing to fear. You can remain anonymous using only a chosen pen name or your real name if you like. It is entirely up to you. You can gain a wealth of information and give to the other folks commenting on the blog some wonderful thoughts and ideas of your own. Many of the blogs related to eating healthy have great recipes and photographs that will make you lick your lips in anticipation of the dishes presented. In short blogs can be a lot of fun and very informative. Have fun and enjoy.

Do people constantly tell you to lose weight so that you can get healthy? Are they constantly telling you once you lose weight all of your health problems will disappear? In this article we are going to look at principle # 3 of “The 7 Principles of Fat Burning” and the fact that you have to be healthy to lose weight.
I am sure that over time you have most likely heard that you need to lose weight so that you can be healthier. They tell you this is because obesity is a health risk that causes heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and stroke. This is right, isn’t it? So many people keep saying that fat is the direct cause of these problems… guess what!…
This is in no way true.
It turns out that the fact is just the opposite of what we have been told over and over again. Before you can actually lose weight it is essential that you are healthy first. The reason that you are fat is because some area of your body is not healthy. Let’s just go ahead and say it… heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, stroke as well as obesity are all the result (symptoms) of the same thing – a body that is not healthy. I don’t know who started this all but somehow someone has made obesity the big bad primary cause or a disease. The real truth is that obesity is an effect or result of something else.
I am sure that many of you have suffered and struggled with weight. If you are experiencing stubborn weight problems this is because you have unhealthy hormones. I don’t care what overweight people say, you can not be fat and healthy at the same time. Let me make sure you heard me; you can NOT be healthy while you are fat.
Your body can not or will not release fat until it is at a certain level of health. You should not be surprised to learn why your body is holding on to fat so dearly if you understand the purpose of fat. Fat is a survival mechanism. The body is not going to let go of fat until the source of stress or the assumed threat of survival is gone. This means that the body is not going to let go of fat until the body is healthy.
When you try to jump in and fix your weight problem with dieting or calorie cutting or other typical exercises without first finding out where your problem lies is not the best approach to take either. If you are focusing on the wrong goal (weight loss) losing weight is going to be much more difficult. The goal that you need to be going after is creating healthier glands and hormones. Weight loss will occur when your body gets healthier.
It is important that you remember that your current weight is a symptom and not a cause. When you remember this you will be able to shift all of your energy and attention to fixing the cause. You will then be able to create a healthy body and the symptom of weight will not be a problem any longer.
The body type diet is the only way that you can really take control of your life and get the weight loss and health results that you are looking for. But Remember: It’s not “lose weight to be healthy”, it’s “get healthy to lose weight”
quinoa is a wonder grain, high in protein, high in fiber, and low in fat. Even I can cook it, just two ingredients: quinoa and salsa. Let it boil 15min and its done. 1 serving (1/4 cup dry) has: 170 calories 6g protein 3g fiber 3g fat For a great meal, have quinoa with 1/2 cup cooked pinto beans (or half a chicken breast) and a piece of fruit.
To be fit and healthy is the best we can wish for ourselves.
Having our family physician tell us to be careful crossing the road, as otherwise we might well live forever, would really make our day, would it not? What can we do, then, to put ourselves into this fortunate position? And how do we deal with all the conflicting advice out there?
We can choose to live a fit and healthy life style.
I suppose we all agree that means eating nutritious food, equally chosen from the four food groups as taught to us in grammar school already.
In addition to that, also instilled in grammar school, we would live an active lifestyle. We would walk, run, play, swim, bike, skip rope – anything that will drive our heart rate up.
What if our body mass index tells us that we carry a little too much fat and not quite enough lean muscle?
There is so much information, as anyone who has ever stood in line at a check out and looked at the magazine headlines can attest to. Most of the information about weight loss is only hype bordering on false advertising. As with all hype, you know the saying, ‘If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.’
In fact 95 % of all diets fail.
That means only 5 % of dieters succeed not only in their weight loss program but also in keeping the extra weight off. If someone could actually teach you, would it not be wonderful to learn the steps necessary to be in that remaining 5 %?
We’ve all heard of diets that play havoc with our metabolism.
What if you could save your metabolism? What if someone could teach you how to crank up your metabolism and turn your body into a food-incinerating, fat-melting human furnace? Staying or becoming fit and healthy hinges around seeking and following credible advice.
Now that the weather is getting warmer, many of us are thinking about how we will look in our summer clothes. Has a long winter of munching on candy or cookies caused you to dread making the switch? If you want to lose a few pounds, some healthy snacks will make the job easier.
Often people think to lose weight, they must practically starve themselves, or not eat anything between meals. This approach is counterproductive. Healthy between-meal snacks can keep you from being so hungry that you binge at your next meal. Studies have shown that several small, healthy mini-meals a day can keep your blood sugar at an even level, and that in itself helps to prevent excessive hunger.
When you are planning snacks, think of the food groups. Let the snack help meet the requirements of the amount of each food group you need for the day.
For example, whole grain crackers and peanut butter, or yogurt and fresh fruit are some nourishing combinations that will ward off hunger pangs.
Smoothies are another good idea. A simple internet search will bring up many recipes for healthy recipes using fruits, yogurt, milk, or other ingredients. Fruit adds a sweet taste without using table sugar and the extra calories that come with it.
Homemade muffins are a good snack choice. Look for recipes that include fruit, berries, shredded vegetables, and possibly whole-grain flour. Applesauce can usually be substituted in many baking recipes in place of oil or margarine.
Fresh popcorn adds fiber to your diet and is quite filling. Make sure you don’t purchase the type that has added fat and salt. Don’t forget to add a nice tall glass of cold water to your mini-meal. It will help you to get in your requirements of the day. You also won’t be tempted to drink pop or some other beverage with empty calories.
By choosing healthy, balanced snacks throughout the day, you will find that it is easier to stay on your weightloss plan, or maintain your desirable weight. You don’t feel deprived. Just remember to count these snacks into your daily calories and food group servings. Even healthy food will cause weight gain if you eat too much of it.
